Gerald D. Coleman

Fr. Coleman is a member of the American Society of St. Sulpice (the Sulpicians), a Society of diocesan priests founded in Paris in the 17th century to prepare men for diocesan priesthood. This ministry has in the past number of years expanded to ongoing formation of priests. Fr. Coleman holds a master's degree from the University of San Francisco, a doctorate in moral theology from the University of St. Michael's College, Toronto, Canada, and a licentiate in Theology from St. Mary's Seminary & University in Baltimore. He taught moral theology at St. Patrick's Seminary & University in Menlo Park, CA, at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, and at the School of Applied Theology in Oakland, CA. Fr. Coleman has authored numerous books and articles in pastoral, sexual, and medical ethics. He served as Vice President for Organization Ethics for the Daughters of Charity Health System, on ethics committees of several hospitals, and President/Rector of St.Patrick's Seminary & University for sixteen years.
